Three Essentials for Achieving Self Improvement Goals

Well many people set up different self improvement goals but they never achieve it, the question so arise what stops people from achieving those goals, answer can be the goals themselves!, Sounds bad but this is the truth if the goals are very big then your mind starts to wander from the real situation and try to do many other things that you can do at that time. For. e.g. you might have set up to complete 50 % of your science project in a day but you know internally that this much work cannot be done in a day. In simple language it means your goal was unrealistic and you knew about it. here are the three essentials that you should keep in mind while setting goals and for achieving them.

1. Setting Small Goals
Yea the key is for achieving big goals it has to be cut into many smaller goals so that it can be achieved. For example, If the ultimate goal of a person is a healthier body, then eating less fatty foods, exercising more or quitting smoking should be included as small goals.
If ultimate goal is a promotion at work , taking some evening college classes, working some overtime, or polishing up a resume should be included as the small goals.
As you notice each smaller goal leads to bigger goals and thus taking you near to your bigger goal by each passing day!

2. Motivation
Alright i admit that many people know what needs to be done to achieve the bigger goals that they have set for themselves but they wont do it because they are not motivated for doing that. Like, it is difficult to make new friends without talking to people. To reach certain goals, certain steps need to be taken. For these folks it is necessary to find out what motivates them if money motivates them they should set some monitory targets for themselves, but in my case i have to admit good food motivates me so for reaching my personal targets i give myself good treat when i achieve my short term goals

3. Making Each Day Count
This famous dialogue by Jack in Titanic applies to our lifes also if we have to achieve our big goals we have to work each day in that direction otherwise we would never make it or will make it later when it will not matter much to us. So life is simple make goals and thus achieve them.Like people for whom saving money is the ultimate goal, might one day skip the gourmet coffee they generally get every morning, and then another day perhaps they make a concerted effort to turn off lights that aren’t in use within their home.
